67. The Hollow Crown: Richard II (2012): I’m counting this as a movie because it was over two hours long, and damn was it excellent. I already loved Ben Whishaw from seeing him in The Hour but he really did a great job as Richard. To me his performance was the most impressive thing about the whole adaptation. It made me wish that we had read Richard II in my Shakespeare class because it gives such context for the rest of the tetralogy. Such great performances and cinematography in this that I can’t wait to see the rest of the series. I hope the rest of the shows are 2 hours a piece like this one because that would be epic. Basically, I have a lot of Shakespeare feelings and I’m so glad this lived up to my expectations.
